Space Camp was an incredible 3-Day adventure for 45 of our GW Long 5th and 6th grade Science students who were enrolled in Science Club. They each had the opportunity to learn about the science of space travel in a unique, hands-on environment. This video is a great overview of Space Camp.
WHERE IS IT?
Space Camp is located at the Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in Huntsville, Alabama.
WHEN IS IT?
We departed on Friday, November 9th and returned Sunday, November 11th.
HOW WILL WE GET THERE?
Our group will travel in comfort on chartered buses operated by Southern Coach Charter.
WHO IS LEADING THE TRIP?
Mrs D (Anne Durrance), 5th and 6th Grade Science teacher will be leading the trip. Additional staff members and/or parents will be serving as chaperones for the trip.
TELL ME ABOUT THE ACCOMMODATIONS
Meals for participants are provided during Space Camp and offered in the cafeterias. Campers and chaperones sleep in secure, dormitory-style housing.
I'M A PARENT. CAN I ATTEND SPACE CAMP WITH MY STUDENT?
Yes, but this requires you to participate in the program and to reside full time on the MSFC campus along with other campers. You will also have to pay the full amount required for a camper.
HOW MUCH WILL IT COST AND WHEN IS MONEY DUE?
Camp is $239 per person. Mrs D will begin collecting on Monday, September 17th and spots will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. Please make your check payable to: G.W. Long and include Space Camp on the memo line.

Mums are sold for $8.00 each
